Abstract

The PV (photovoltaic) energy systems have emerged as a vital element in electricity production that is sustainable. The relatively small output voltage delivered by PV modules however represent a major challenge towards effective power conversion as well as connexion to high voltage energy systems. Traditional DC2DC converters may need very high duty cycles to obtain high voltage gain, leading to more switching losses, less efficiency and too much voltage stress to semiconductor devices. In order to address these drawbacks, the present research paper suggests an ultra-high gain switched-capacitor DCto DC converter tailored specifically to low-voltage photovoltaic power conversion systems. The proposed topology is an inductive energy transfer network synthesized by a switched-capacitor voltage multiplication network to provide significant voltage amplification by working at moderate duty cycles. The characteristics of voltage gain and component stress are obtained through mathematical modelling and steady-state analysis used to estimate the stresses of various components. The behaviour of the proposed converter is confirmed by carrying out intricate simulation investigations with MATLAB/Simulink provided an assortment of operating circumstances. Simulation performance shows that the converter can be used to amplify low input voltage of 12 V to around 200 V without instability and converts up to 94 percent of the electric signal. Moreover, the converter proposed can minimise the stress of the switching and enhance voltage boosting capacity in contrast to traditional boost converter topologies. These characteristics render the suggested converter a good prospect of improving efficiency and reliability of photovoltaic energy conversion networks.
